YOUNG WORKERS COLLECTIVE

Labor South engages young workers, organizers and working-class college students from the US South to learn about the history of organizing in the South and to gain practical research, interviewing, language justice, and organizing skills that can prepare them for movement work. Through the Young Workers Collective, young workers participate in Action Schools and Apprenticeships to build relationships with other young workers and movement elders, understand how labor history can strengthen current movement work, and learn about the network of organizations supporting workers

The Young Workers Collective Action School is open to 20 participants ages 18–30, with preference given to applicants from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The experience continues beyond the two-day training over four months of virtual peer support. Applications are due July 31. Fill out the registration form to apply today!
